Our Story

Laura Nupponen is the creative force behind Moosiki Kids and a doting mother to her daughter Zuzu and son Finn. Her love for performing arts can be traced back to her elementary school days, where she would entertain her father's video camera with animated expressions while sitting at the back of the orchestra, not playing her violin.

Laura's passion for music and performance led her to pursue a BFA in Vocal Performance at Carnegie Mellon University and an MFA in Acting at Columbia University. She has performed at renowned venues such as the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland, the Mirang Theater Festival in South Korea, and the Metropolitan Opera in New York City.

Drawing from years of teaching babies and young children at various studios, Laura created her own program that fosters development through music. Her classes include communication through baby sign language, guided play through repetition of original music each week, music appreciation of popular children's music, and exposure to new sounds and rhythms by introducing a new "instrument of the week" in class.

Moosiki Kids has been mentioned in articles in Parent's Magazine, Mommy Nearest, and Time Out New York, and has also been seen in New York Family, Big Apple Parent,  New York Loves Kids, and Mommy Poppins. The Moosiki Kids Band has been featured in the Summer on the Hudson Locomotive Lawn Series with over 400 people in attendance, and the Sandbox Series at Carl Schurz Park. You can find Laura‘s original songs on iTunes. Her first album, "Moosiki Kids",  second album, "Moosiki Kids Too", and third album, "Moosiki Kids City"

Laura is proud to inspire the tiniest of tots and is passionate about nurturing their growth through the power of music.
